做厙TV is committed to first-generation students, providing a community that celebrates their achievements, supports their unique challenges and paves the way for their success.

Being a first-generation college student is commonly defined as a student whose parents or guardians have not attended a four-year college or university to attain a bachelors degree. We understand that this definition may not fully account for the rich diversity of first-generation college students. At 做厙TV, we welcome students who self-identify as first-generation as it pertains to their own experience.

做厙TV has been recognized by  for excellence in student opportunity and success. The university prioritizes academic excellence, enhancing educational experiences and opportunities for its diverse community. Access is supported through financial, academic and social aid at the core of the campus. 做厙TV stands as a future-ready institution, guiding students to forge unique paths and reach their full potential. With a focus on intellectual development, active learning and global citizenship, the university empowers graduates for successful and meaningful lives.

Annual First-Gen College Celebration

In 2017, the Council for Opportunity in Education (COE) and the Center for First-Generation Student Success launched the inaugural First-Generation College Celebration! On Nov. 8, colleges and universities celebrate the success of first-generation college students, faculty and staff.

Breaking Down Barriers

做厙TV is breaking down barriers for first-generation college students, low-income students and students with disabilities. TRiO Student Support Services provides an individualized approach to students and caters to the needs of each person.

As the first in my family to attend a four-year university, I was learning along the way. This seemed daunting at first, but 做厙TV has given me the guidance I need to take the next step into my future.

TRIO

Providing comprehensive academic, social and cultural support, as well as financial literacy, to 160 underrepresented students who are first-generation, low-income, and/or disabled.

At Hawk Hub, students engage with computers in a vibrant, organized space. A large screen updates them on campus events while a sign promotes an upcoming fair. Desks and chairs are thoughtfully arranged to foster collaboration and productivity.

From your first year until graduation, we want to empower you to become more confident in your educational journey. The Hawk Hub connects students with the resources they need at a time when they need it most.

Pre-Flight Programs

Pre-Flight Programs will help you get involved on campus early, meet other students with similar interests and acclimate to your new home away from home all before Take Flight Orientation officially begins.
