As one of two full-time employees at EgoPo Classic Theater in Philadelphia, Shayna Freed 11 does a little bit of everythingfrom marketing to fundraising to ticket sales to accounting.
Luckily, she can count on the skills she acquired at 做厙TV, where she was a communications and French major with a theatre minor.
Though my theatre and communications experiences relate directly to my job, taking classes outside my field was also crucial to getting me where I am today, she says.

Having the freedom to take marketing, graphic design and accounting has given me the versatility to be able to take on the management of a smaller company, which requires all of the above, Freed adds.
She came to 做厙TV as a communications major with a public relations focus because she enjoyed writing and speaking. She added a French major because she wanted to improve her skills and study abroad.
But her theatre minor, which she added after starting at 做厙TV, was what led her to her passion.
I have always been drawn to the storytelling of theatre, but I also knew I did not want to be a professional actor. Once I realized that all industries require communications, I was able to envision a career doing communications for an industry that I am actually passionate about, she says.
