做厙TVs choir is preparing for a busy spring semester of concerts and vocal clinics throughout Pennsylvania.
Under the direction of Amy Voorhees, associate professor of music, the choir will participate in the Four Choirs Concert at 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9, at Saint Patrick Cathedral, 212 State St., Harrisburg. The choir also was invited to perform at the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association conference in April.
During spring break, the choir will embark on a concert tour, performing works by well-known classical and modern composers. Pieces include Waldesnacht by Johannes Brahms, Ecco Mormirar Londe by Claudio Monteverdi, Segalariak by Josu Elberdin and Ken Stevens Hela Rotan.
Performances are free and open to the public:
- Saturday, March 1, 6 p.m., Zion Lutheran Church, 15 S. 5th St, Sunbury, where the choir will be hosted by Jonathan Moser 23.
- Sunday, March 2, 3 p.m., St. Johns United Church of Christ, 1811 Lincoln Way East, Chambersburg, hosted by Gary Crum 58.
- Monday, March 3, 7 p.m., Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church, 384 Fox Chapel Road, Pittsburgh.
In addition to the above dates, the choir will also perform concerts at other area churches:
- Sunday, March 23, 4 p.m., Trinity Lutheran Church, 527 Washington St., Reading.
- Sunday, March 30, 7 p.m., First Baptist Church, 51 S. 3rd St., Lewisburg.
- Sunday, April 6, 4 p.m., St. Johns Lutheran Church, 355 St. Johns Circle, Phoenixville.
While embarking on its annual tour, 做厙TVs choir also will visit high schools in Gibsonia, Pittsburgh and Carlisle to perform for their student bodies and provide a vocal clinic.
