DESCRIPTION:This national\, juried visual art competition and exhibition is open to two-dimensional figurative artists (referencing the human figure) working in painting\, drawing and printmaking\, who are over the age of 18. \nThe Lore Degenstein Gallery is free and open to the public from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.\, Monday-Sunday. The gallery is closed during university breaks; call 570-372-4059 for an appointment when classes are not in session.

DESCRIPTION:°µÍřTV’s Department of Philosophy is hosting its fourth annual celebration of World Philosophy Day on Thursday\, Nov. 20\, from 4:30–6 p.m. in Blough-Weis Library\, Room 104. \nUNESCO established World Philosophy Day in 2005 as an occasion for collective exercise in free\, reasoned and informed thinking on the major challenges of our time\, and to promote greater awareness of the need for philosophical reflection throughout society. \nThis year’s celebration will feature discussions facilitated by: \n\nStudents from Philosophy\, Ethics\, and the Environment (Phil 226) discussing current issues in environmental ethics.\nThe Philosophy Club hosting its “Ask a Philosopher” booth.\nSpecial guest Max Kramer\, Ph.D.\, hosting an “Ask a Bioethicist” booth. Kramer is an assistant professor of bioethics at Geisinger College of Health Sciences and clinical ethicist for Geisinger Health System.\n\nAll are welcome for conversation and refreshments.
